Obituary

Andre Antonio Nelson was born February 2, 1962, in Palatka, Florida to Clifford Nelson, Jr. and Roberta Walker Nelson. He was baptized and became a member of Bethany Seventh Day Adventist Church in Palatka, Florida, where he readily attended church and participated on many church programs.

Andre was a 1980 graduate of Palatka High School and briefly attended Eastern Kentucky University on a football scholarship. After leaving college Andre moved to Orlando, where he started his own moving and storage business as an owner operator. He operated his moving business in Orlando for approximately 10 years. While working in Orlando, he met and married Crystal Bradford. Once married, they decided to move to Waldorf, Maryland close to their children.

Andre was an avid sports fan, especially college football and would try to attend or watch as many Miami Hurricanes games as possible. He was also a collector of old cars and was a proud owner of three 1990 Cadillac Sevilles.

On June 24, 2022 at 6:45 AM, Andre passed away after a brief stay at the Medstar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.

Andre was preceded in death by his daughter, Tonya Cooper.

Andre leaves to cherish his memories: A loving Wife, Crystal Nelson; mother, Roberta Harris; father, Clifford Nelson; sons, Farand Antonio Nelson, Curtis (Zandrique) Harold, and Lamonte Cooper; sisters, Sharon Coffie, Tasha Parker, Maria Harris, Latasha Nelson, Contina Raphel, Antionette Allen; brother, Lopez Nelson; eleven (11) grandchildren; one (1) great grandchild; two (2) aunts; and a host of nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives and friends.
