Obituary For Blanche Peacock
Mrs. Blanche Peacock, 95, was a lifelong resident of Palatka and a 75-year resident of her Madison Street neighborhood. She was born to Hannah Cooper (Greene) and Rutherford Mickler on December 8, 1927. She was the eldest of nine children and was raised by her bonus father, Emanuel Greene.
In 1948, she married the love of her life, Robert Peacock, and raised two children. Their marriage lasted 27 years until Robert was called to eternal rest on January 6, 1975.
Mrs. Peacock was a 1945 graduate of Central Academy High School and later of the Jones School of Beauty in Jacksonville, Florida where she studied to become a licensed beautician. She was later employed by and retired from Georgia Pacific.
She loved fishing when she was younger. In her last years she loved her puzzles and all-day western shows and movies. She could often be heard helping the cowboys bring the criminals to justice.
She was a member of Bethel AME Church where she served as the adult choir president/chorister. She also served as a stewardess until her passing.

(Agnes) Peacock, Midway, FL; Granddaughter, Afi (Jason) Ruel, Chesapeake, VA; Great-Granddaughter, Arie Peacock- Williams, Midway, FL; Sisters, Tomsena Greene and Annette Greene, Palatka, FL and Hattie Belle Johnson, Pahokee, FL; Brother, Robert (Juanita) Greene, East Palatka, FL; Her many Greene, Mickler and Peacock nieces, nephews and cousins; adopted son, Elijah (Gwen) Lowery.
