Obituary

Reverend Charlie Shivers Sr. was born on January 26, 1946, to the late Johnny Shivers and Evangelist Mary Wright in Jackson, Georgia. He transitioned peacefully from this life and into the arms of our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at the Shivers' residence. He was joined in Holy Matrimony to his late wife, Catherine Shivers in October 1968. He previously served as a Minister at Damascus Baptist Church in Palatka, Florida and retired from the Ford Motor Company after 26 years of employment. During his retirement he loved fishing and traveling.

In addition to his parents and his beloved wife of 50 years, Catherine Shivers, he is preceded in death by his two sisters, Dorothy Crowley and Ann Dawson.

To Cherish his memories, his children from eldest to youngest: Charlie (Christine) Shivers Jr., Calandra Lamb, Christopher (Melissa) Shivers, Cory (Rhonda) Shivers, Clayton Shivers, Craig Shivers, and Casey Shivers; Brothers: Matthew Wright, Ronald (Carissa) Shivers, and Tom McClendon; Sisters: Regina McGlocklin and Betty Shivers. Charlie Sr. leaves behind 35 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
