Obituary

Eddie Clarence Hills was born on November 20, 1934, in Palatka Fl to Jet and Mable Hills. He graduated from Central Academy High School in the Class of 1953. In 1955 he married the “love of his life”, Evelyn Hills.

Eddie served his country in the United States Army. Eddie was an entrepreneur and worked as a clothing salesman. He retired from Georgia Pacific Pulp and Paper Mill after years of dedicated service. He was a faithful member of Mount Olive African Methodist Episcopal Church.

On February 20, 2022, Eddie Clarence Hills transitioned peacefully at home. He now has a new home in heaven free from pain, sickness and sorrow.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jet and Mable Hills, sisters, Bernice Kelly and Juanita Hills, brother Jettie Hills.

He will be missed and forever remembered by family and friends, His Wife of more than sixty-six (66) years, Evelyn Hills, daughters, Phyllis Wright, Jackie Hills, Cynthia Appling and Gail Hills; six (6) grandchildren, Takeisha Wright, Monique Stafford, Alanda Sams, Stephanie Camden, Edward Jones and Breonna Appling; twelve (12) great grandchildren; sister, Helen Brown, sister-n-law, Catherine Hills; like a son, Duane Thomas, like a daughter, Sharon Strauss; goddaughter, Lameshia Eubanks; a host of other relatives and friends.
