Obituary For Flora Mae Bell

Flora Mae Bell was born on Sunday, April 3, 1955, in Starke, Florida to Mitchell and Emma Bell.

Flora was educated in the Putnam County School District graduating with honors from Interlachen High School class of 1973. She obtained her Associate of Arts degree in Sociology with honors from Santa Fe Community College in 1975. With great ambition Flora continued her education, obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida in 1977. Flora retired from the State of Florida after devoting 15 years to Case Management and 16 years to the Department of Juvenile Justice.

Flora was a member of Mt. Zion AME Zion Church in Putnam Hall, under the leadership of Reverend Hezikiah King. Prior to her health declining she was an avid church goer. In her leisure time, she enjoyed listening to gospel music, listening to church sermons, watching cooking videos on YouTube, and watching/attending Florida Gator games. Flora was a true Gators fan! She also enjoyed spending family time with her loved ones.

Flora Bell was preceded in eternal rest by her parents Mitchell & Emma Bell, grandparents George & Jesse Middleton and Joe & Eileen Bell.

To forever cherish the loving memories of Flora Mae Bell are her Son: Christopher Bell; Honorary Grandchildren: Ja'zire Session, Jaylan Session, and Chloe Sanders; Special Cousins: Beverly Jordan and Shirley Davis; Caregivers: Doreen Coleman and Shonda Grice; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Flora Mae Bell transitioned from labor to reward on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center in Palatka, Florida. She will forever be in our hearts.

Jesus is a way maker, he made away for her her and he is making away for us right now. her journey was beautiful, I remember when she joined her church and was given the task as the church secretary. she worked faithfully for may years at her church. therfore, in memory of her good times I share my condolences to the family along with Sonny, Alfred, Jr, Belvelyn, Don, and Danny. If we could see her now, we sould say Heaven is a beautiful place, she is happy. from cousin Evelyn Hayes-Williams (family)
