Houston Williams, Jr. was born November 17, 1946 in Palatka, FL to Curlease R. and Houston Williams, Sr. Houston received his education in the Putnam County School System and participated in various athletic sports and was considered a gifted athlete and a fast runner. After high school, Houston began working for Creamer Wood & Alford Timber. He later went to work for the Central State Bag Company for approximately 3 years. It was during this time Houston’s entrepreneurial spirit began to flourish and he decided to leave Central State Bag Company to start his farming business. Houston possessed leadership qualities, self-confidence, and personal motivation. He was a good listener and was never shy of giving you his view. Houston had a big heart and would give his last. Houston loved fishing, wearing nice clothes, helping people and he never met a stranger; he was outgoing and had a vivacious personality. He loved using his hands in working around the house, fixing and making repairs. One of his favorite sayings by his beloved mother was, “A still tongue carries a wise head.” He would often say, “If I had listened to mother, it would have kept me out of trouble.” Houston was a member of the House of God Church, Keith Dominion in Palatka, FL, where he participated in various auxiliaries, including fundraisers. After several months of sickness, Houston Williams, Jr. transitioned at 12:16 pm on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, FL. In addition to his parents, Houston was preceded in eternal rest by his brothers, Lonnie Johnson and Dr. Howard T. Williams; sister, Myrtle M. McKinney; and maternal uncle, George Rambert, Jr. Houston leaves to cherish his memories 5 children, daughters, Curlease (Daniel L.) Kelly, Jr., Deland, FL, Cynthia Annette Williams, Palatka,FL, Shavon Sabrina Pearce, Charlotte, NC; sons, James Tyrone Williams, Palatka, FL, Derrick Williams, Ormond Beach, FL; 15 grandchildren, D’Michael J.
