Obituary For Pastor John “JD” F. Davis
Psalms 91:1- “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty: (KJV) On December 31, 1968, in Brooklyn, New York the Earth was gifted with the birth of John Fritzgerald Davis, who was entrusted to the care of his mother Pearl E. Davis (Palm Bay, Florida) and father Carl Lee Davis who preceded him in death. After laboring in the vineyard for most of his life sinch childhood, God called him home to rest on February 1st, 2025. Pastor John "JD" Davis began his life growing up in the East Brooklyn Section of New York. John was the 4th child out of 5 children and the 1st son. At an early age John was around musicand showed love for all types of music. He was always listening to music with his siblings and dancing, and they would call him little Barry White. John loved going to church and could not wait to get there. Going to church was where John got his first start in music. John graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School of 1988 where he excelled academically, and he became well known in school and around the community for being a DJ as well a choir director. Because of his love for music, he was the choir director for the school chorus and if you know John Davis, he brought the gospel flava to the school. During school, John started a community choir call Voices of Praise with young people from different cities. They traveled singing at various events. Around 1992 Pastor John “JD” Davis joined Love Fellowship Tabernacle where Bishop Hezekiah Walker is the Pastor. John Davis had a few mentors that he looked up to and he wanted to be like such artist as the late Elder Timothy Wright, and Bishop Hezekiah Walker and he admired them and would often try to do everything they did but in his own style. They deeply admired John’s talent and compassion and wanted to share with young people from different cities fellowshipping/ministering. It was during this time where God showed John his purpose and destiny. John accepted Jesus in his life at an early age and began his church life at the age of about 6 years old where he was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church until it became Brownsville Community Baptist Church where the Pastor was the Late Rev. Harold Burton Sr. He became a member of the Junior Choir which had over 75-100 voices, and through the years as he got older, he joined the junior usher board and the Young Adult Choir.In 1993 John relocated to Palm Bay, Florida. He continued his love for music with various churches in the community as well as continuing the relationships from various states. Greater Blessed Assurance Apostolic Temple is where he was the Minister of Music for about 7 yrs under the leadership of Bishop & Pastor Jones and out of that The Anointed Assurance Choir was made, and they did their 1st Live recording where Pastor John “JD” Davis wrote and directed most of the songs on this album. He then became the Minister of music for Faith Builders International Ministries for 8 yrs under the leadership of Apostle Dr. Antwan & Lady Brown where he served faithfully until he married. God had blessed Pastor Davis with his own choir ministry called Forever Pray'ze Choir. It was through Forever Pray’ze where he heard the call from God to birth Forever Pray’ze Ministry which is when he was ordained a Pastor by Apostle Dr. Antwan Brown. In 2018 he and his wife joined Destined for Greatness in Palm Coast under the leadership of Bishop Chadrick and 1st Lady Gessica Joseph where he served as the Choir Director, andWorship Leader. On September 8, 2018, he married the Gift that God had given whom is First Lady Merelda Davis and he tells everybody it's because of her, he is the man he has become. She was always his number one supporter. Together they formed a DJ business where they were the CEO’S of their company called JMProductions31. Pastor John Davis leaves to cherish his memory are his wife: 1stLady Merelda Davis; Parent:; his mother, Mother Pearl E. Davis of Palm Bay, Florida; 3 Sisters; Jacqueline Bush (Eric Prescott) of W. Melbourne, Florida; Deborah Cumberbatch of Palm Bay, Florida; Sandra Watkins of Brooklyn, New York, and1 Brother; Antonilious “Tony” (Alexandra) Davis of Tampa, Florda; 1 Aunt; Virginia Daise of Bowie, MD. Father and Mother In Law; Pastor Johnny (Sheila) Fudge of Madison, Florida; a special recognition; Mother Catherine Hill, of Atlanta, Georgia; God children; Jade Queen Victoria Simmons, Aaron Hayes Jr (AJ), and Serenity Fudge; Compassionate Brothers In Love; Bishop Johnny Fudge Jr of Jacksonville, Florida, Lamont Fudge of Madison, Florida, Jermond Fudge of Jacksonville, Florida, Willie King of Sanford Florida; Supportive sister in love; Sylvia (Richard) Gallon of Madison, Florida, as well as countless other sorrowing aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, saints, and friends. To God be the glory, for Pastor John Fritzgerald Davis has found peach and joy in the Father’s house!
