Obituary

Pompey Clarence Drake, 49, a life-long resident of Palatka, FL, was born on April 1, 1972, in Gainesville, FL. He was educated at Palatka High School.

Pompy worked in Masonry and for the City of Palatka Sanitation Department. His hobbies were fishing, playing cards and talking to friends.

Pompy entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 9, 2022, following an extended illness.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Clarence Drake, grandmother, Ida Drake. Aunt Mattie Williams, uncles, Andrew Lewis, James Drake, and stepfather, Calvin Ayers.

Pompy is survived by his mother, Lula Ayers, Palatka; daughter, Arianna Drake, Palatka; sisters, Betsy Drake and Jennifer Ayers Jones, Palatka; brother, Randy (Beverly) Drake, Jacksonville, FL; special friend of 12 years, Fay Potter, Palatka; eleven nieces, six nephews, five great nieces and six great nephews; aunts, Dorothy Drake, Baldwin and Ollie Drake, Palatka; uncle, Peter Drake, a host of other relatives and friends.
